I Got ChatGPT to Monitor the Visa Bulletin for Me

Every month around the second week, the State Department drops the latest Visa Bulletin, and anyone waiting on a priority date goes and mashes refresh on that table.

It's tedious and easy to forget, so I just set up a recurring ChatGPT task to check it instead.

The Prompt

Check the official U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin page regularly.

Monitor [Category, e.g. EB-3 / EB-2] for [Country / Chargeability, e.g. All Chargeability Areas (ROW)] under both Final Action Dates and Dates for Filing against my priority date: [Month Day, Year].

Only notify me if:
1. A new monthly bulletin is published.
2. The cutoff dates move or my priority date becomes current.

Include the previous cutoff date, the new cutoff date, my current status, and a link to the official bulletin.

Fill in your category, chargeability country, and priority date.

Heads up: Treat this purely as a ping, not legal guidance. Whenever it alerts you, go look at the actual Visa Bulletin and USCIS filing charts yourself before making any filing plans.

Takes two minutes to set up, and you can stop manually watching the site.
